AFK Journey is the latest open-world action role-playing game (ARPG) that has the gaming community in an absolute chokehold. Developed by FARLIGHT and Lilith Games, it is a free to play game on two consoles including Android and PC. Being an ARPG, the heroes in the game have to constantly engage in battles, for which they need appropriate equipment. These equipment need to be unlocked and then forged to get upgrades. AFK Journey Equipment: What Are They and How to Get Them

As mentioned before, there are different AFK Journey equipment for all the different roles of heroes in the game. Rather than assigning different gear to each individual hero, in AFK Journey, they are only divided among the six roles or classes. Currently, there are six roles in the game, which means there are six different types of equipment. 

Now, regardless of the role type, all of them have five different types of equipment including a Weapon, Gloves, Ring, Helmet, Chest Armor and Boots. Depending on the class or role type, they have different types of the above-given gear suiting their abilities. When it comes to getting the equipment, there are various ways to get it. All the ways that you can get AFK Journey equipment are explained in detail below:

Exploring Treasure Chests: By exploring chests spread all throughout the vast open-world map in AFK Journey, you can get lots of equipment for all the different classes.
AFK Level Progress Rewards: Each time you upgrade your AFK Level, you are given lots of rewards and these generally include equipment of all sorts and in different quantities.
Growth Path and Trials: Whenever you complete a quest or task in the game, you will get awarded with rewards which include equipment and Forging Stones. They are tied together with how you progress in the game and your in-game activities.

How to Forge AFK Journey Equipment

Forging weapons has a few prerequisites that need to be fulfilled to forge the gear. To forge gear and make them better or upgrade them to a higher level, you will need Forging Stones and Gold Coins. Other than that, your Resonance Level is directly connected with the level of gear that you can forge or upgrade to. For example, at Resonance Level 69, you will only be able to craft gear of level 65. However, once you reach Resonance Level 70, you will be able to craft Level 70 gear.

Here are the steps you need to follow to forge AFK Journey equipment:

Step 1: First and foremost, at the bar at the bottom of your screen, you need to go to the Resonating Hall.
Step 2: Then, again at the bottom of your screen, click on Equipment. There, you will find all the things about the heroes’ gear.
Step 3: Once you’re there, click on any of the six roles or classes. You will see their five different types of equipment or gear, ready to be forged.
Step 4: Click on the “Forge” option underneath an item and spend the necessary materials, i.e. Forging Stones and Gold Coins. Forging Stones come in two varieties, Forging Stone I and II, where for Levels 1-60 Forging Stone I is used and for levels 65-105 Forging Stone II is used. You can gain Forging Stones by dismantling and recycling your old equipment or gear that are no longer in use!

Which Class’s Equipment Should You Upgrade First?

Now that you know exactly how to forge your heroes’ AFK Journey equipment and make them stronger, you need to know which class or role’s gear to upgrade first. For players who are just beginning their journey, it is advisable to concentrate on upgrading or forging the equipment of classes or roles in which your strongest heroes are. Instead of spending your resources on classes you don’t generally use, opt for upgrading the gear of classes you use more in battles i.e. your stronger heroes’ class. 

As for which gear item you should be forging to a higher level first, that depends on which class you’re planning to spend resources on. In general, you should focus on upgrading your Marksman class first because the heroes in this class are the damage dealers, who are best for both story progression and battles in general. Then, you should focus on the Tank and Support classes of heroes because having proper defense and healing is necessary for the frontrunners to thrive. After that go for the secondary damage dealers who stay in the middle or back of your formations more i.e. the Warrior, Rogue and Mage classes of heroes, giving them priority based on who you use more often.

How to Get Exclusive Equipment

Exclusive AFK Journey equipment is the type of equipment that is specific for each individual hero in the game. Currently, each hero has only one piece of exclusive equipment. To get them, you need to ascend your heroes to the highest level i.e. to Mythic. Then, you will be able to use and upgrade the exclusive equipment. It is not only hard to ascend your heroes to Mythic, but you also need a special stone to upgrade or forge the exclusive equipment. 

These are known as “Ruin Stones” and they are extremely hard to get. You can only get them through battles in the Dream Realm, from the Emporium which is the in-game exchange store or from Guild Chests for which you need to join a guild in the AFK Arena. However, you can also purchase the stone from the in-game shop with Dragon Crystals, which have to be bought with real money, of course.
