LoL Patch 14.2 – What changes are coming?

If Patch 14.1 brought a refreshing look to LoL, the second update of the season will likely focus on balancing the game by buffing and nerfing the main outliers.

With the new itemization, as well as the map changes, there are a lot of dynamics that are bound to change. Junglers will have to learn their new paths and laners will have to get used to the new layout. There will be new picks on the rise now that item spikes will change but a few days and more data will be needed to have a clearer picture.

Nonetheless, game designer Spideraxe has already revealed some of the planned changes for the new Patch 14.2, which you can find in the section below. For those who are waiting to see Smolder, the new LoL champion, you will have to wait a bit more, as he will be released in Patch 14.3.

Patch 14.2 Release Date

According to the official patch schedule, Patch 14.2 will be released on Wednesday, January 24. This will be the second patch of season 14. Just like every year, a total of 24 updates are planned for the year.

How will the upcoming patch impact the meta?

It’s still a bit too early to judge the overall meta given that the new season has just started. Power picks are yet to be discovered: we’ll monitor the upcoming days to find out the first takeaways.
